Hi,

I am Pippa Plopp a long term avatar in Second Life a 3D-World.

Yes, Second Life still exists and it’s still online. Even it changed a lot the last 23 years.

Especially the avatars have changed and the graphics and it becomes realistic a little bit more every day.

But, unfortunately, there are still avatars in Second Life looking like ones of the beginning of this 3D-world, as “Ruth” and “Phillip” were running around as your first avatar after the first login.

The reasons are multiple. Some users don’t have the money to invest Dollars and Dollars in this game. A great mesh-body and a mesh-head can cause costs of round about 7000L$, about 30 to 35 US$!

But is it really needed to invest so much money? Is there no other way to have a good looking, nearly realistic looking avatar with a mesh-body, mesh-head, Baked On Mesh (BOM) and good looking clothes? Or is it possible to have it all for free, or let’s say, without investing one US$?

That’s what I want to find out and I am reporting on this blog how it goes… or even not.

When starting this challenge, I realized, that I can’t really swith off one thing: my experiences on Second Life, my knowledge about some brands, names like “Magica”, “von Fyrsten”, “Stealthic” or “Lucy Body”. But… okay. Enter the word “hair” into SL-search and you’ll find these brands on your own. Using the search was one of my first things I did after my very very first login on 01-15-2010!

I created a new avatar, Miss “MeshtestDummy” and a challenge.

In this blog I am talking about it and you are invited to follow. Maybe your avatar is looking like a noob and you want to change this.
